Here are upgrade instructions for your ZX Diag Cart interface (Steve Smith’s design).
These might also work on the ZX Diag Cart from Brendan Alford.
Current version: 0.37
Check your version by holding down Symbol Shift when booting up the ZX Diag Cart.

For loading the util from tape / smartphone
- Load this .TAP file (click) and put it on tape or on a smartphone or other device that enables you to playback the file
- Set the ZX Diag Cart jumper J1 to ‘SPECTRUM’
- Boot up the system and load the .TAP file by entering: LOAD””
- Follow the instructions on screen
IGNORE THE INDICATION TO DISABLE ESXDOS!
For DivMMC with throughput edge / edge splitter board
If you have a DivMMC interface with throughput edge connector (such as the DivMMC EnJOY! PRO ONE), you can load the upgrade software from SD card.
Alternatively you can use an edge splitter like the Currah uSlot or similar to put the DivMMC and ZX Diag Cart on at the same time.
- Load this .TAP file (click) and copy it to an SD card for your DivMMC device
- Set the ZX Diag Cart jumper J1 to ‘SPECTRUM’
- When powered off, connect both DivMMC interface and the ZX Diag Cart
- Boot up ESXDOS on your DivMMC and load the .TAP file you just copied
- Follow the instructions on screen
DON’T FORGET TO DISABLE ESXDOS WHEN INDICATED!
